Small Engine Electrical Manual
This is from some manual I borrowed and scanned in the electrical or ignition systems chapters only. It covers most types of ignitions systems and gives an overview that I was never taught even after becoming and certified Honda mechanic. It is really a great starting point for anybody that wants to learn general theory of operation and will help the beginning mechanic throughout his or her career. I needed it when I was trying to understand how the CR500's CDI ignition system worked and how to capture and convert to an RPM signal that I could use with the more available or standard 12 volt ignition tachometer or shift light used with automotive drag racing. It is my opinion that you are only a parts changer if you don't understand how, what your are working on, operates or works. It will help you diagnose and repair electrical machines that you have never seen before without having to read it's particular manual. IMHO, This way of thought is the only way to become a true mechanic or repairman, but this is just for electrical.
